Summoned by the Lord’s Grace Tasting the Lord’s Love
I was born in a small city in Northern China. In 2010, I followed my relatives to Brazil. In Brazil, I got acquainted with a Christian friend. He brought me to church to listen to sermons. But though I went three times, I never absorbed it. Afterward, because my job was keeping me busy, I didn’t go to church again until one day in June, 2015, when my friend brought me to church once more. This time, through what brothers and sisters shared, I had some understanding that the Lord Jesus is the Redeemer.
In the Bible, Paul said, "Let every soul be subject to the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whoever therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation" (Romans 13:1-2). How should we believers treat those in power? Is obedience to those in power truly the same as obedience to God?
Each time God becomes flesh and appears to do His work, Satan's evil forces savagely defy and condemn the true way. In this way, war arises within the spiritual world which divides and exposes the religious world. The Lord Jesus said, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword" (Matthew 10:34).
At the end of October 2016, I accepted the gospel of God. After that, I often had meetings with several brothers and sisters, reading God’s words, sharing experiences, and singing hymns to praise God. I felt that such kind of church life was very joyful and enjoyable. Several months passed soon. Each brother and sister made progress to different degrees. And God also did not mistreat me, allowing me to gain some practical things during that period of time, which made me deeply feel His salvation for me.
Walk in honesty, and pray that you will be rid of deep deception in your heart. Pray, to cleanse yourself; pray, be touched by God. Then your disposition will be changed. Man's disposition changes as they pray. The more the Spirit moves, the more they will obey, more proactive they will be. And their hearts gradually will be purified because of true prayer.

True spiritual life is a life of prayer, a life that's with the touch of God. When you're touched by God, that is how you change and your disposition can transform. When a life does not have the Spirit's touch, life is nothing more than just religion. But when given light by God, often touched by Him, you shall live a spiritual life. The Church of Almighty God came into being because of the appearance and work of the returned Lord Jesus—Almighty God, Christ of the last days, and also under His righteous judgment and chastisement. The church is comprised of all those who truly accept Almighty God's work of the last days and are conquered and saved by God's word.
Many people believe that a belief in God is a belief in the Bible, and that working painstakingly for the Lord is the reality of believing in God. No one in the religious world is able to thoroughly understand what true faith in God means. Almighty God says, "'Belief in God' means believing that there is a God; this is the simplest concept of faith in God.

Eastern Lightning, The Church of Almighty God was created because of the appearance and work of Almighty God, the second coming of the Lord Jesus, Christ of the last days. It is made up of all those who accept Almighty God's work in the last days and are conquered and saved by His words. It was entirely founded by Almighty God personally and is led by Him as the Shepherd. It was definitely not created by a person. Christ is the truth, the way, and the life. God's sheep hear God's voice. As long as you read the words of Almighty God, you will see God has appeared.

McDonald’s “Cult Murder” in Zhaoyuan

In 2017, CESNUR’s managing director, Massimo Introvigne, was invited to participate in a dialogue in
China’s Henan province in June, followed by a conference in Hong Kong in September, involving
Chinese law enforcement officers, leaders of China’s official “anti-xie jiao” association, Chinese
academics, and some Western scholars. The dialogue was about the notion of xie jiao (an expression
difficult to translate, and not exactly equivalent to the English “cult”) and one particular group classified
in China as xie jiao, the Church of Almighty God, also known as Eastern Lightning. That Church is
controversial, even beyond China, in particular for having being accused of perpetrating a horrific crime
in 2014 in a McDonald’s diner in Zhaoyuan, where a female client was mercilessly beaten to death.
Introvigne had access to a number of documents about the murder, and heard the opinions of both
Chinese officers and scholars hostile to the Church of Almighty God, and of members of the same Church
who escaped to South Korea and the U.S. This resulted in the first scholarly investigation of the
McDonald’s murder, whose preliminary conclusions are presented in these research notes.
ABSTRACT: On May 28, 2014, what became known as the stereotypical “cult murder” in China was
perpetrated in Zhaoyuan. Six “missionaries” entered a McDonald’s diner for preaching and ended up
killing a customer who had refused to give them her phone number. Chinese authorities attributed the
crime to the Church of Almighty God (Eastern Lightning), against which a campaign of repression was
already going on. A study of the available documents about the case, including documents published by
Chinese official sources, supports a different conclusion. The assassins were members of a small
movement that used the name “Almighty God” to designate its two female leaders but was not part of,
nor connected with, the Church of Almighty God. The article discusses how a small religious movement
went from the deification of its leaders to violence and murder.

Song Ruiming is a pastor of a church in South Korea. As a devout follower of the Lord for many years, he has been keenly pursuing his faith and working for the Lord while waiting to be raised to the heavenly kingdom when the Lord returns. In recent years, he has been feeling very confused and powerless when seeing that the church doesn't have the Holy Spirit's work and become increasingly desolate.
In each period of time, God will begin new work, and in each period, there will be a new beginning among man. If man only abides by the truths that “Jehovah is God” and “Jesus is Christ,” which are truths that only apply to a single age, then man will never keep up with the work of the Holy Spirit, and will forever be incapable of gaining the work of the Holy Spirit. Regardless of how God works, man follows without the slightest doubt, and he follows closely. In this way, how could man be eliminated by the Holy Spirit?
